Our story begins with an axolotl. Specifically, a pink Ambystoma mexicanum. This remarkable amphibian is famous in the scientific world for its ability to regenerate and adapt. We chose the axolotl as the mascot for dar.vin because it represents our philosophy of continuous evolution, resilience, and growth.
Since 2019, under the stewardship of Evrim Ağacı, a legacy POLR installation quietly and reliably served the Turkish scientific literacy community. For years it shortened links, tracked essential click metrics, and helped educators, writers, and curious minds share knowledge more efficiently across the internet. It was a humble tool with outsized impact on accessible science communication.
In 2026 we recognised that to keep serving this community effectively, the platform needed to evolve. We partnered with NTX Web Design to rebuild the entire architecture on Next.js from the ground up. This was not a visual refresh; it was a complete technological transformation.
We migrated the system while keeping every shortcode, user account, and piece of link ownership intact. The new dar.vin ships rich analytics, customisable link-in-bio pages, comprehensive webhooks, and a fully featured v3 REST API built for developers. Our dedication to the spirit of science and accessible information remains; only the infrastructure under it changed.
We invite you to experience the next step in our evolution. Try shortening your next link.
